Yawave takes great care to protect your privacy and to secure the data that is stored on the Yawave servers. Yawave takes measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, manipulation, or destruction.

This Privacy Policy describes how Yawave handles the data it has access to.


Scope of the privacy policy

The Privacy Policy applies to all information you provide to Yawave through the Yawave Websites. If you have submitted information to any third parties through our Yawave Websites and Services, we cannot be responsible for any information collected by those third parties.


What we collect

In order for you to create an account on Yawave and use the Services, we need to collect and process some information. Depending on your use of the Services, that may include:

  • personal information (such as your name, email and postal addresses, telephone number, and country of residence)
  • your login and password details, in connection with the account sign-in process
  • details of any requests or transactions you make through the Services
  • information about your activity on and interaction with Yawave and Services, such as your Social Wave activities, your IP address and the type of device or browser you use
  • communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem)
  • information that you submit to Yawave in the form of comments, contributions to Social Waves or discussions, or messages to other users.


What's private

This data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:

  • any payment information you provide
  • your password details
  • your IP address
  • communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem)

We don't give your personal information to any third-party services, except when it's necessary to provide Yawave's Services (like when we partner with payment processors). When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of the Yawave Services, we require that they use the data only to the extent necessary for delivering Yawave's Services and that they protect your personal information to the same standards we do.

We do reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or law enforcement, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect Yawave's legal rights.


What's public / visibilities

When you create an account, we create a basic profile for you on Yawave, containing your account name, the date the account was created, your contact information and some additional information about your activities. This account profile is not public.

Yawave gives you full control about the way you appear publically in Social Waves as defined in the visibility cards that you set up. Yawave gives you the possibility to create different visibility cards with different levels of visibilities – for example you can create professional visibility cards for business related Social Waves, private visibility cards for Social Waves in your private environment, and even anonymous visibility cards for Social Waves your do not want to reveal your identity.


Uses of your personal information

We will use the personal information you provide to:

  • identify you when you sign in to your account;
  • enable us to provide you with the Services;
  • send you marketing communications we think you may find useful;
  • administer your account with us;
  • enable us to contact you regarding any question you make through the Services;
  • analyze the use of the Services and the people visiting to improve our content and Services; and
  • use for other purposes that we may disclose to you when we request your information.


Modifying personal information

If you are a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal information you provided to us and associated with your account.

You can only delete your account if you have no pending Social Waves as Wave Owner.

Yawave can delete user-accounts if they remain inactive (i.e. not accessed).


Web analysis

We need to analyze the browsing behavior of visitors to our platform in order to optimize our services. To this end, we use web analysis methods that track Users and third parties who visit the Yawave platform. The purpose of collecting and evaluating this data is to enable us to fix bugs and, in particular, optimize our Services in terms of user needs. Our web analysis methods also provide us with figures pertaining to the number of visitors, temporal distribution, preferred content, length of time spent on a page, etc.


Social media widgets

Our Website includes Social Media Features that may collect information such as your IP address or which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.


New owner

If the ownership or control of all or part of our Services or their assets changes, we may transfer your information to the new owner.


Location of data

The Yawave databases are mainly located in Switzerland.
